The MENAEA Collection is a private Malaysian art collection comprising Asian antiques and antiquities across 2500 years and spread between London, Paris, Vienna, and Kuala Lumpur. It was established in 2017 to house and conserve important Asian artefacts and support the development of Malaysia’s cultural scene.

As the Asian antiquities market has historically been dominated by older age groups, Umar aims to change that by establishing innovative platforms that may attract fresh interest as well as highlight the importance of conservation to the newer generation. This includes collaborations with contemporary galleries, artists, and collectors, especially those from Asia to entice a younger audience and create new dialogues and spaces for like-minded individuals to interact. Umar believes that classical Asian art has formed the foundation for many contemporary artists across the world and exploring the link remains key in ensuring its continuity in this age and time.
