Gallery 7

Alisan Fine Arts

Showcasing seven international contemporary Chinese artists, including a number of ink painters who have been working with the gallery for over three decades,

Including the renowned Chinese diaspora Chao Chung-Hsiang, ink master Lui Shou-Kwan, internationally acclaimed ink artist Wang Tiande, as well as a new generation of women artists Man Fung-Yi, Zhang Xiaoli, Zhang Ying, and Zhang Yirong. Their creations reach beyond the boundaries of Eastern and Western cultures, crossing the limitations of ancient and modern times.

Quite a few of these artists are not only widely recognised in Asia, but also in the West. Particularly, Lui Shou-kwan has been featured extensively in solo and group exhibitions held by first tier institutions in the UK, including the Ashmolean at Oxford University (2018-2019), the Whitechapel Gallery (1962) and Victoria & Albert Museum (1968). Chao Chung-Hsiang's works have also been collected by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and Wang Tiande's works are among the British Museum's collection. These artists, through their continuous explorations of the infinitive possibilities of ink art, attracted the attention of major museums to this traditional Chinese medium. Through this exhibition in London, Alisan Fine Arts continues to introduce the latest artworks by these artists to global collectors.
