An exhibition of alumni art to commemorate the 400th anniversary of The Latymer Foundation.

'murmuration' celebrates the achievements of the many Latymer alumni who have progressed from the school's art studios in Hammersmith into careers in the creative industries in London and beyond.

The exhibition includes over 50 exhibitors, from artists aged 18 - 80, generating a display in a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, furniture, fashion and interior design, textiles, architecture, animation, illustration, graphics, and photography.

"Over the years, so many of our students have graduated to Art School, to read Architecture, Art History, or to study Film at University. We are delighted to be showcasing their work to illustrate both the brilliance of artistic ambitions and the diversity of creative practices they have gone on to achieve.

The Latymer Foundation run educational outreach programmes to engage more than 3,000 local children each year. Many of our partnership schools have been invited to view the exhibition and explore the many different forms of art on display providing a positive social impact for the community.

Huge thanks to the generosity of Cromwell Place our Venue Partner for providing the wonderful exhibition space.  Also to our Curator, David Mumby, as he retires after 30 years as Head of Art at Latymer"

About the Hosts

The Latymer Foundation

The Latymer Foundation

The Latymer Foundation at Hammersmith, London,  was established in 1624 by Edward Latymer, a lawyer and local landowner, with the aim of offering financial support to eight children living in the area, providing them with clothes and giving them an education. An education which would not otherwise have been possible for them to access.

Today, the Foundation runs Latymer Upper and Prep School and one of its main aims is to provide bursaries (financial support for school fees) to as many local children as possible, ensuring that any promising and talented child can access a first-class Latymer education, regardless of their family’s financial situation.
