Cromwell Place

Presented as part of the series of Tertulias Artisticas, Cromwell Place, alongside Augusta Edwards Fine Art and Embassy of Chile in the UK, is pleased to present a forum exploring photography and art practices that play a part in creating and conveying memory.

Moderated by Catalina Herrera AcuñaCultural and Press Attaché for the Embassy of Chile in the UK, we welcome a conversation with artist and visual communicator, Carola Ureta Marín, and independent curator and specialist in Latin American Art, Chantal Fabres, to discuss the role photography and art practices plays in creating and conveying Memory.

About Tertulias Artisticas

This October, If you’re near, if you’re listening, will present exhibitions and events at Cromwell Place which explore the art, culture and lived experience of the Ibero-American and African regions. The title, an extract from the poem, I sing what you loved, by Gabriela Mistral (translated by Ursula K. Le Guin), reflects Cromwell Place's desire to be a home for artistic expression across continents.

Tertulias Artisticas are a series of talks that illuminate the innumerable ways art and photography can expand our understanding of the world whilst acting as a tool to create community and advocate for societal change.
