In honour of the publication of The Celtic Spirit, by Noël Adams, we are mounting a special exhibition of selected pieces of fine Celtic metalwork from the Barrow Collection, including torcs, brooches, bracelets and metal horse and cart fittings.

The Barrow collection celebrates the superb metalworking skills of the Late Iron Age people known as the Celts. Celtic culture emerged in Europe just before the middle of the first millennium BC but the influence of their artistic expression persisted under the domination of the Roman Empire and the rise of Christianity in the Celtic-speaking fringes of the British Isles.
