Andrew Pierre Hart is based in the UK. His wide ranging practice explores rhythmic and spatial expressions, as a processing strategy for his concerns with bodily and spatial effect and engagement as individual and collective consciousness. The figures in Hart’s work are often in states of sonorous experimentation, and or contemplative modes of listening. Hart responds to the playlist he calls life to prospect a wide rang- ing field of referents to create new territories and kinships across an indefinable space time continuum.
Alexandria Smith (US) is based in London. Her paintings and mixed-media works are led by her intuitive approach to drawing. These automatic renderings are selected and often worked up into vividly colourful, layered and sensual three-dimensional wood assemblage paintings. These works draw us in to encounter surrealistic vistas that are shaped by the creative and intellectual prowesses, and experiences of the black femme body.
